Define Vote on Account ?

Ans. Pending the completion of procedure specified in article 204 of the constitution for the passing of the Budget, the Finance Department may arrange to obtain a ‘Vote on Account’ to cover expenditure for one month or such longer period as may be necessary in accordance with the provision of article 206 of the constitution.

Funds made available under vote on account shall not be utilized for expenditure on a new service.
