What is Special Pay?

Special Pay is an addition of the nature of pay, to the emoluments of a post or of a government servant, granted in consideration of 

 

(1) the specially arduous nature of the duties.

 

(2) a specific addition to the work or responsibility.

  The 'Deputation (Duty) Allowance' granted to government servants is also treated as 'Special Pay'.
