1. ACCIDENT; INCIDENT

ACCIDENT ( A SUDDEN EVENT INVOLVING DANGER आकस्मिक घटना) :- Three persons were killed in bus accident yesterday.

INCIDENT (A SIMPLE HAPPENING घटना ) :- Do not take it seriously; it is a minor accident.

FAMOUS (HAVING FAME, USED IN A GOOD SENSE प्रसिद्ध) :- Lala Laajpat Rai was a famous leader.

GAIT (MANNER OF WALK चाल ):- That beautiful girl has a graceful and sexy gait.

GATE (LARGE DOOR दरवाजा):- You should not enter through the main gate.

6. PRESCRIBE; PROSCRIBE

PROSCRIBE ( TO BANISH):- The minister was proscribed by the king.

PRESCRIBE ( TO DIRECT):- The doctor has prescribed three doses of medicine after four hours daily.

ASCENT (WAY UP) :- The ascent of the hill is difficult.

10. EMINENT; IMMINENT

IMMINENT :- There are dark clouds in the sky & rain is imminent.

EMINENT :- Newton was an eminent scientist.

11. STATIONARY; STATIONERY

STATIONERY (WRITING MATERIAL):- I am going to market to purchase several stationery items for the office.

STATIONARY (FIXED):- Earth is not stationary, it moves around the sun.

12. PLAIN; PLAN

PLAN ( A DETAILED PROPOSAL FOR DOING OR ACHIEVING SOMETHING):- He planned everything well.

PLAIN (EASY, SIMPLE):- One should try to write his thoughts in plain language.

ACCESS (APPROACH, ACCESSIBLE पैठ ):- I have no access to the Chief Minister.

EXCESS (MORE THAN SUFFICIENT जरुरत से ज्यादा):- Excess of everything is bad.

20. HANDSOME; BEAUTIFUL

BEAUTIFUL (VERY ATTRACTIVE, PLEASANT मनोहर, बहुत अच्छा , शानदार ):- She was a very beautiful woman.

HANDSOME (GOOD LOOKING रमणीय, रूपवान):- He is a handsome lad.

21. BESIDE; BESIDES

BESIDES (IN ADDITION TO के अतिरिक्त ):- Besides Hindi, I know English & Urdu.

BESIDE (NEAR नजदीक , पास):- The child sat beside his mother.

22. PRINCIPAL; PRINCIPLE

PRINCIPLE (RULE OF CONDUCT):- My father is a man of principle.

PRINCIPAL(CHIEF, HEAD):- Who is the principal of your college?

23. AMIABLE; AMICABLE

AMICABLE (FRIENDLY मित्रवत ):- Finally they come to an amicable settlement.

AMIABLE (LOVABLE प्यार योग्य):- She is not only a beautiful but also an amiable girl.

24. COMA; COMMA 

COMMA (MARK OF PUNCTUATION कोमा ) :- One should be careful about proper use of comma.

COMA (STATE OF SENSELESSNESS बेहोशी ) :- The patient has been in coma since Monday.

25. FLEE; FLY

FLY (MOVE QUICKLY THROUGH THE AIR):- Birds are flying in the sky.

FLEE (TO RUN AWAY भाग जाना ):- He tried to flee from the sight but he was caught.

VICINITY (निकटता, पड़ोस , पास-पड़ोस):- There were a hundred or so hotels in the vicinity of the railway station.

VICIOUS CIRCLE (दुष्चक्र):- We mus try to break this vicious circle.
